Nashir has taught publicly and privately in a variety of contexts. He tutors students in physics, math, and computer science, in addition to other subjects. He has experience teaching individual music (bass, theory, jazz) lessons, group bass lessons, and leading small and large ensembles (through the Gluck Foundation and also through the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz's Jazz in the Classroom Program). He currently works for At Home Tutoring LA teaching math and science to middle and high school students.
Nashir has contracted and provided ensembles (of various musical disciplines) for a wide variety of events, and can provide a personalized musical ensemble upon request. In past events, Nashir has provided ensembles with configurations ranging from 1-8 musicians.
Nashir plays upright and electric bass as well as drums, and has a plethora of experience as a sideman in addition to leading ensembles.
